Please help welcome Elmarie Parker and hear about her mission work in the Middle East which is supported by First Presbyterian Church. Her sermon at the 11am service on January 20, 2019 will enlighten and inspire you! A potluck luncheon will follow the service.
Scott and Elmarie Parker are both PCUSA Associates for Ecumenical Partnerships and Communication. She serves as Regional Liaison to Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon; and the heartbeat of her work is to help deepen and strengthen the relational ties between the church in her region and the church in the U.S.
Elmarie graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity and Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy. She and Scott served as parish pastors in California, Florida, and Ohio before moving to Beirut, Lebanon in 2013 and beginning their current work.
“I believe that the future of the church in the United States depends upon learning from and engaging with our brothers and sisters in other parts of the world,” says Scott.
